We ask that each project pitch be 'civically-driven' in some way; that is, it has some sort of positive impact on citizen life, or improves a goverment process or interaction, or increased civic engagement for people in the Greater Boston area.

We also require that all submissions be freely available for other civic hackers to fork, redeploy, and hack on. We don't require any particular flavor of open-source license but recommend the MIT version. You can check out others here: http://choosealicense.com/
